I read the link.

As far as one claiming copyright and getting something thing this a lot of people either overlook or simply don't know is that in some cases "gentlemen's agreement" applies. Not sure if its the case with the big guys ( example Disney getting Warner Brothers stuff taken off ) but in some local TV markets it is the case.

Some months back I was considering about uploading a film on this site of KFEL-TV ( KWGN ) Denver's channel 2 first broadcast. After checking out some other sites, I discovered that some years back this "gentlemens agreement" was in effect in the Denver TV market. In other words had I uploaded that clip not only could KWGN demand the clip be taken down but so could the other TV stations in Denver, even those who have nothing to do with KWGN ( the former KFEL )..and living in Virginia I have better things to do with my time than calling up every TV station in Denver and asking for permission to upload a 10 minute clip. It wouldn't have been worth it.
